The invention concerns a disc brake with floating caliper for a vehicle, said brake developing high horsepower. The invention aims at providing a floating caliper disc brake having high rigidity and heat resistance while having a reduced weight. Therefor, the inventive disc brake comprises a floating caliper (1, 41) forming a housing above the brake disc (2) and above the friction pads (3, 4) arranged on either side of the disc (2), said floating caliper being mounted mobile on a fixed component (15) of the vehicle by means of guide bolts (14, 57). The floating caliper (1, 41) in the form of a housing consists of inner caliper section (5, 45), provided with at least one actuating device (12, 52), and of an outer caliper section (6, 46) coupled with the inner caliper section (5, 45) by at least two housing sections (7, 47) located above the brake disc (2). The invention is characterized in that the caliper sections (5, 6, 45, 46) have a lightweight construction of the high-rigidity lattice type.

The invention relates to a hydraulic parking brake equipped with a parking brake device, in particular for motor vehicles and comprising a brake housing, in which a hydraulic service pressure chamber is delimited by a brake piston. According to the invention, the parking brake device acts on the brake piston and can be locked by means of a locking device once the brake is applied and comprises an energy accumulator that has at least one integrated spring element and co-operates with the brake piston. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple, cost-effective parking brake function that complies with legal requirements. To achieve this, the parking brake device can be actuated by a pressure that is regulated in the service pressure chamber (7) and that can be used to charge the energy accumulator (10).

The inventive actuating unit for an electromechanical disc brake for a motor vehicle comprises a lever arrangement (3) placed between an actuating electric motor and a friction lining (4) of said disc brake. Said lever arrangement consists of a first lever (10) mounted at a level of a hinge point (A or 40) in a stationary manner with respect to a brake calliper (1), and a second lever (20) connected to an actuating element (7) by a driving force. Said actuating element is connected to the friction lining with the aid of an adjusting device (30) which is used for compensating the wear-out of the friction linings (4, 5). In order to reduce to a minimum the power demand of the electrical power drive system and the energy demand of the brake along the life service thereof, the adjusting device (30) is constructed in such a way that the efficient transmission range of the lever arrangement (10, 20) is carried into effect by modifying a deviation (A-C) between the hinge point (A or 40) and a force application point (C or 60) of the adjustment unit (30) to the actuating unit (7), the operating air gap between the friction lining (4, 5) and the brake pad (6) being maintained permanent.
