摘要： An axial flux rotating electrical machine is disclosed, the machine comprising a stator (10), a cooling jacket (22, 100) inside the stator for cooling the stator, and stator windings (24) around the stator and the cooling jacket. The cooling jacket comprises a plurality of independent protrusions (76) which extend radially outwards through the stator windings and which secure the stator to the machine. This can allow the stator to be secured without the need for direct contact with the stator.

摘要： A cooling jacket (22, 100) for the stator (10) of an axial flux rotating electrical machine is disclosed. The cooling jacket is arranged to cool the inside of the stator, and comprises a passage for the flow of coolant. The passage comprises grooves (114, 116, 118, 120) which introduce turbulence into the flow of coolant. The grooves may introduce different amounts of turbulence in different parts of the passage. This can allow a similar level of heat transfer to be achieved throughout the cooling jacket.

摘要： A baffle 30 is disclosed for directing cooling air in a rotating electrical machine comprising a stator core and end windings extending out of the stator core. The baffle comprises a first surface 33 arranged to direct air flow 44, 45 along an end face of the stator core 16, and a second surface 35 arranged to direct air flow 46 along a radially outwards surface of the end windings 18. This may help to reduce turbulence in the airflow, thereby allowing more efficient transfer of heat. Furthermore, greater priority may be given to air flow through the rotor/stator air gap 14, and thus increasing air flow through the centre of the machine.
