Disclosed are a modified polyester fiber and a process for producing the same. The modified polyester fiber comprises the component of alkoxylated 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol and has the properties of easy dyeability at low temperatures and good colorfastness to laundering. The modified polyester fiber can be produced by undergoing a polymerization reaction of alkoxylated 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, alkanediol, and terephthalic acid or an alkyl ester thereof, and then spinning. The modified polyester fiber can be dyed at low temperature and has excellent dyeability and colorfastness to laundering. Therefore, this modified polyester fiber can be widely used in the application of synthetic fiber product.

The present invention is related to a method for preparing lactam represented by the following formula: wherein R is C 2-10 alkylene which may be optionally substituted with C 1-6 alkyl or phenyl; R is a hydrogen atom, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 hydroxyalkyl or phenyl. The method for preparing lactam comprises an amination reaction using crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites as catalysts under the condition of gas phase in the presence of (a) lactone, (b) amine and/or ammonia and (c) water.

The present invention relates to a catalyst for preparing a lactone, which is prepared by supporting a cupric compound, a zinc compound and at least one alkaline earth metal compound on a support. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing a lactone, which comprises a dehydrocyclization reaction of a diol under a gas phase in the presence of the aforementioned catalyst after activating said catalyst. The catalyst for preparing lactone of the present invention is quite economic because of its high activity, long lifetime and high selectivity of products.

This invention relates to a process for producing polyester fibers with enhanced dyeability, lesser elongation and greater strength, which comprises combining 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol into a mixture containing terephthalic acid, or an alkyl ester thereof, and a (C 2-6 ) alkanediol, and carrying out polymerisation. The resultant polyester copolymer is then spun to produce polyester fibers. This invention also relates to the polyester fibers produced by this process. These polyester fibers exhibit enhanced dyeability, lesser elongation and greater strength than unimproved polyester fibers.

This invention relates to a preparation process of a catalyst which comprises a noble metal and other metals as catalysis promoters in combination with an alkali or alkaline earth metal compound, supported on the outer surface of a carrier. The preparation process comprises impregnating the carrier with a solution containing an oxidative state noble metal as the main catalyst and an oxidative state metal as catalysis promoter, reducing the oxidative state metals into the metallic state in gaseous phase with a gaseous reducing agent under certain temperature, pressure, moisture and gas concentration, then impregnating the reduced carrier with a solution of an alkali or alkaline earth metal compound. The metal components-supporting catalyst prepared by the process according to the present invention has a high surface area and exhibits high catalytic activity, which leads to an increase in the catalytic efficiency and life of this heterogeneous catalyst. The catalyst prepared in the present invention is suitable for producing alkenyl acetates through reaction of olefins, acetic acid and oxygen in vapor phase.
