    摘要: A sheet store, particularly a banknote cassette, adapted for dispensing or accepting sheets comprises a container (10) having two openings (15,28) adjacent one another. Each opening is associated with respective first and second closure members (16,29) movable between closed positions in which the openings are closed and open positions. A control assembly is provided for controlling operation of the closure members (16,29), the arrangement being such that when the store is to be used to dispense the sheets the control assembly enables both of the closure members to open but when the store is to be used to accept sheets the control assembly enables only one closure member (29) to open.

    摘要: Sheet feeding apparatus such as a cash dispenser comprises a first transport system having feed rollers (5), separation rollers (6), and a contra-rotating roller (7); a second transport system comprising a pair of belts (11, 12); and a diverter (25) positioned between the two transport systems. The diverter is movable between a first position in which sheets may be conveyed from the first transport system to the second transport system and a second position in which sheets may be conveyed upon reverse movement of the second transport system past the diverter (25) and away from the first transport system. The diverter is biassed towards its second position and is movable towards its first position in response to engagement of the diverter by a sheet fed towards the diverter by the first transport system.
    A belt (53) extends between a pair of pulleys (54, 55), the pulley (55) being mounted via a single direction three-wheel clutch to the shaft (5ʹ). The pulley (54) is non-rotatably mounted to the shaft (14ʹ). Reverse movement of the second transport system is coupled with the shaft (5ʹ) by the belt (53) thereby causing reverse movement of the first transport system so that any shingled notes are pushed back into the cassette (1). The belt (53) is inactive when the first and second transport systems operate in the forward directions.

    摘要: A sheet thickness detector comprises first and second moveable guide surfaces (1,4-2,5) defining a nip (7,8) through which a sheet passes in use. A sensor (32) senses relative separation movement between the guide surfaces. The first surface carries a rib (16,17) extending generally along but at an angle to the direction of movement of the surface whereby the rib moves laterally relative to the second guide surface at the nip, and whereby any portion of a sheet extending in the direction of movement of the sheet and having a thickness greater than the majority of that section of the sheet passing through the nip, the thickness of the portion being no greater than the depth of the rib, will cause substantially no change in the relative separation of the surfaces except when the portion is sandwiched between the rib and the second surface.
