摘要： With the invention it is possible to define the functionalities of an electrical appliance, for example a washing machine (11), in a simple and comfortable way. Control means (13) of the appliance (11) are connected to an AC main cable (20) of the appliance. The AC main cable (20) is connected to a setup and test device (25). The setup and test device (25) provides information for defining the functionality and the machine setup via the AC main cable (20) to the appliance (11). The information can be frequency modulated onto the main voltage or otherwise be transmitted before powering the appliance.
