A system and a method for filling a package (2) of the collapsible type with a product in the form of a powder or liquid. The system comprises a package (2), which has a chamber defined by flexible walls, and an arrangement (1 ) for filling a package (2) of the collapsible type with a product in the form of a powder or liquid. Moreover, the arrangement comprises a filling tube (4) with an end portion (6) which is made of a stiff material and which has an outer circumference (C2), and which end portion (6), in order to transfer said product to the chamber, can be inserted into a filling channel (3) of the package (2), which filling channel (3) has an inner circumference (C1), and a clamping element (5) which is designed to grip the end portion (6) and the filling channel (3) when said end portion (6) is inserted into said filling channel (3), so as to create a seal between the end portion (6) and the filling channel (3). The system is characterized in that the difference between the inner circumference (C1 ) of the filling channel (3) and the outer circumference (C2) of the end portion (6) is less than or equal to four times a wall thickness of the package walls, such that the ability of the filling channel (3) to form folds when gripped by means of the clamping element (5) is eliminated.

The transfer means (18) is arranged to pick up at least one container (2) in the pick-up position (A) and transfer said at least one container (2), in the delivery position (B), to the holding means. The invention also concerns a method for handling containers of a collapsible type in a filling machine.

The invention relates to a device for producing packages (2) from an M-folded material web (3), comprising a rotatable tool holder (4) supporting a plurality of peripherally arranged tools (5). The tools (5) each comprise a base element (6) and an engagement element (7) which is arranged such that it is pivotable relative to this base element, which base elements (6) form a circumferential outer surface (8) of the tool holder (4), over which circumferential outer surface (8) the said material web (3) can be passed. The tool holder (4) is arranged, upon rotation, to move the tools (5) along a work path (WP) along which they can be brought into engagement with the material web (3) by lowering of the said engagement element (7) for the connection of mutually facing wall portions of the material web (3) along connecting portions (10) which define the said packages (2), and a return path (RP) along which the tools (5) can be brought out of engagement with the material web (3) by raising of the said engagement element (7). Each tool (5) is arranged to be moved together with the material web (3) when it is moved along the said work path (WP), and each tool, when engaging with the said material web (3), is arranged to participate in the production of at least two packages (2). Each pair of adjacent tools (5) are arranged for the joint production of one package (2). The invention also relates to a filling machine which is arranged to fill a package produced in such a device.
