A container sealing apparatus for heat welding a lid (14) to a container (2) by laser irradiation reliably presses the lid (2) and the container (14) against each other, efficiently performs the heat welding by laser irradiation, and increases production capacity, without complicating or upsizing the apparatus. The container sealing apparatus comprises: a rotating spindle (24); a rotating turret means (38) disposed around the rotating spindle and having a plurality of pockets (40) along a circular transport path; a plurality of container support means (42) which are arranged below the rotating turret means (38) in correspondence with the plurality of pockets (40), and can rotate about the rotating spindle and rotate on their axes; a plurality of lid pressing means (44) which are arranged above the rotating turret means (38) in correspondence with the container support means (42), can rotate about the rotating spindle and rotate on their axes, and can ascend and descend relative to the container support means; and a plurality of laser irradiation means (46) capable of rotating about the rotating spindle and adapted to throw laser light toward the container (2), against which the lid (14) has been pressed by the container support means (42) and the lid pressing means (44), thereby heat welding the lid (14) to the container (2).

At least either one ultrasonic processing member of the horn and the anvil is guided so as to reciprocate in a CD direction intersecting a transport direction of the sheet-like member, and the one ultrasonic processing member reciprocates in the CD direction with respect to a part wound around the rotating member in the sheet-like member. The outer circumferential face of the rotating member includes a first section and a second section at positions different from each other in the CD direction. Front side edges 16a, 16a and rear side edges 16b, 16b of a diaper 1 are respectively joined by seam arrays 17 extending in a longitudinal direction Y and thereupon a waist-opening and a pair of leg-openings are formed. The diaper 1 comprises an inner sheet 18, an outer sheet 19 and a liquid-absorbent core 20 sandwiched between these inner and outer sheets 18, 19. The inner and outer sheets 18, 19 are formed of heat-sealable fibrous nonwoven fabrics containing thermoplastic synthetic resins.
