The nanoparticles have a mean grain size of no more than 10 nm and at least 10 percent of the nanoparticles have a size of at most 5 nm. The volume percent of the tungsten carbide grains having a grain size of no more than 1 μm is less than 4 percent. A method for producing the cemented carbide material is also disclosed.
