A method for assembling materials using a riveting device of the kind which comprises a plug (2) and a sleeve (1). The sleeve (1) is provided on its outer surface with a peripheral recess, in particular a groove (5), in order to form a folding zone, while the plug (2) has a head (9) which can deform the tubular end of the sleeve and fold it back in the folding zone. During riveting, the sleeve's peripheral recess protects the start point of the countersink of the materials from stress and folding said sleeve results in a large bearing surface in perfect contact with the materials.

Said transfer head comprises movable drawers (8, 9), provided with recesses for receiving, one by one, the parts emerging from the feed ducts, common means for discharging the parts (C) and means for engaging each drawer, with a view to aligning its recess with the outlet means according to the selected part. L'invention concerne un procédé d'assemblage de matériaux au moyen d'un organe de rivetage du type comprenant un mandrin (2) et une douille (1). La douille (1) est dotée d'un décrochement périphérique sur sa face externe, en particulier une gorge (5), en vue de former une zone de pliage, cependant que le mandrin (2) présente une tête (9) apte à déformer l'extrémité tubulaire de la douille et à replier celle-ci au niveau de sa zone de pliage. Lors du rivetage, le décrochement périphérique de la douille préserve la naissance de la fraisure des matériaux de toute sollicitation et le pliage de ladite douille permet de réaliser une portée de grande dimension s'appliquant parfaitement contre les matériaux.
