An injection is carried out under a certain molding condition with a nozzle in an injection molding machine left open to sample an injection pressure Pr in every certain cycle for storing. Detected pressure data Pr(0) to Pr(N) for one shot is stored as reference pressure data Pr0(0) to Pr0(N). When defective molding occurs or when a resin lot is changed or the like, the injection is carried out with the nozzle left open under the same molding condition as that used in obtaining the reference pressure data and obtain the detected pressure data Pr(0) to Pr (N). Waveforms of the detected pressure data Pr(0) to Pr (N) and reference pressure data Pr0(0) to Pr0(N) are graphically represented so that variation of the molding condition is observed. It is assumed that if there are any differences, a problem presumably resides in resin, while if there is no difference but the defective molding occurs, the problem presumably resides in a mold.

An injection molding machine capable of accurately detecting a rotational force exerted on a screw by resin backflow to easily evaluate states of resin backflow and closure of a check valve. In a state where the screw is stopped axially and rotationally after metering is finished, a load exerted on the screw in the rotational direction is detected. This load is a rotational force exerted on the screw from resin remaining between flights of the screw (resistance torque component). During injection, a load T exerted on the screw in the direction of rotation is detected, and the resistance torque component is subtracted from the detected load T to obtain a backflow torque component generated by resin flowing back through the check valve. By simultaneously displaying waveforms of backflow torque components in a plurality of molding cycles to be overlapped, stability of closure of the check valve is readily evaluated.

An ejector control device (20) for an injection molding machine performs a series of processes that move ejector pins (9) forward and backward a plurality of times to remove a molded article from a mold. A controller of injection molding machine capable of stabilizing a peak pressure of resin appearing when an injection process is switched to a pressure-holding process, by reducing the variation of the peak pressure. Resin pressure Pr is detected at every predetermined sampling period Δt. There is a time lag between the time at which the resin pressure reaches an injection/pressure-holding switch determining resin pressure P(v-p) and the sampling time t2 at which the resin pressure that has reached the value P(v-P) is detected. Hence, a difference Ve between the detected resin pressure value Pr' and the switch determining resin pressure P(v-p) is obtained. The transition time period T in which pressure should be changed from a pressure-holding start pressure Ps to a pressure-holding pressure Pp is corrected by T = T0-α×Ve to make the transition time period T shorter when the difference Ve is greater, to thereby hold down the peak pressure Pmax. By this, the variation ΔPmax of the peak pressure Pmax is reduced. Since the pressure is kept uniform, the quality of a molded produce improves.

A method of and an apparatus for precisely determining a separating force of a molded product (3) from a mold (2a) by an ejector in an injection molding machine. A load exerted on an ejector mechanism (9-12) in operation without a product (3) molded in the mold (2a) is constituted by an inner resistance of the ejector mechanism (9-12). The inner resistance includes frictional force produced within the ejector mechanism (9-12) and resilient forces of springs (12) for returning ejector pins (11) to retracted positions thereof. On the other hand, the load exerted on the ejector mechanism (9-12) in operation with a product (3) molded in the mold (2a) is constituted by the inner resistance and the separating force of the molded product (3) from the mold (2a). Thus, a difference between the loads detected in driving the ejector mechanism (9-12) with and without a molded product (3) at each ejector position precisely represents the separating force of the molded product (3) from the mold (2a). Judgment on defectiveness/ non-defectiveness of the molded product (3), and abnormality of the injection molding operation and the ejector mechanism (9-12) are performed more precisely based on the determined separating force of the molded product (3).

A step time display device for an injection molding machine selects two events (a time measurement start event and a time measurement end event), time of each of which is to be measured, from among a plurality of events (starts and ends of mold clamping, injection, holding pressure, metering, mold opening, and ejection steps) in one molding cycle of an injection molding machine, and detects and stores occurrence time of each of the selected events. The step time display device calculates a time interval between the two events based on the occurrence time of each of the two stored events, and displays the calculated time interval on a screen.
