    Abstract: A random access method and data reception method, apparatuses thereof and communication system. The random access method includes: a terminal equipment transmits a random access preamble to a network device; and determines (considers) that a random access procedure corresponding to the random access preamble is successfully completed when the terminal equipment receives a first notification or when the terminal equipment receives a first notification and a condition of a first cell related to the random access preamble is satisfied; wherein the first notification is a notification of reception of a downlink control channel transmission and is received from a lower layer of the terminal equipment on the first cell, and/or a notification of reception of a downlink control channel transmission for response to the random access preamble and is received from the lower layer. With the embodiments of this disclosure, whether a random access procedure is successful is determined according to a relationship between the downlink control channel transmission and a cell or a random access preamble transmitted by the terminal equipment. Hence, the terminal equipment may be able to accurately transmit and receive data, thereby improving a rate of success, reducing times of retransmission, and saving energy consumption.
