The invention relates to a device and a method for increasing occupant protection in a motor vehicle during a side impact, in which energy is exerted in a lateral direction on the door area of the motor vehicle, a vehicle seat (2) being situated on the opposite side of the motor vehicle door (4) from the energy impact. Said device comprises an inner door lining (3) oriented to the vehicle seat. At least one partial area (6, 7) of the inner door lining can be transferred from an initial state into a deflected state, thereby protruding into the vehicle interior, by means of the drive unit which is connected to the vehicle door and said partial area. The invention is characterized in that the drive unit comprises a converter material that can be activated by energy supply.

The invention relates to a device for protecting passengers in a motor vehicle in the event of an energy input caused by a collision and laterally oriented towards a motor vehicle door. Said device has a connection structure provided with at least two parts, a first part and a second part, the first part being connected to the motor vehicle door and the second part being connected to an energy-absorbing region of the motor vehicle body in a fixed manner. Both parts can be brought together in an actively connected manner on at least one common joining region for the targeted derivation of at least part of the energy input acting laterally on the motor vehicle door, in the region of the motor vehicle body. The invention is characterised in that the first and/or second part comprises at least one transducer material which is subjected to a change of mechanical state, especially a form change, by means of the energy supply, bringing both parts together and/or locking the same together. The second part of the connection structure is mounted in a motor vehicle body region directly surrounding the motor vehicle door.

The present invention relates to a window-winding arrangement (1) as well as a motor vehicle door containing this window-winding arrangement. The window-winding arrangement contains a drive means (5) as well as a guide means for the drive and for guiding a pane (2) belonging to the window-winding arrangement. The drive means and guide means is designed in a manner such that the drive force for movement is applied onto the pane such that this (4.1; 4.2) independently of its movement direction is always pressed against a certain guide edge (6c) of the guide means. With this it is rendered possible on manufacture of the window-winding arrangement to envisage greater tolerances as well as to do away with the costintensive installation of additional guide rails in the door inner space. Furthermore one achieves a reduction in friction as well as a reduction in weight.
