摘要: There is provided a drug dispenser device comprising a housing; extending from the housing, an outlet for insertion into a body cavity of a patient; provided to the housing and moveable with respect thereto, a drug discharge device having a longitudinal axis and comprising a container for storing a drug formulation to be dispensed, a discharge mechanism and a discharge channel from the container for discharge of the drug formulation to the outlet; connecting to the drug discharge device, a container collar; connecting to the container collar and moveable with respect thereto along the longitudinal axis of the drug discharge device, a transfer element, the transfer element including an actuating portion; provided to the housing, at least one finger operable member moveable to apply a force to the actuating portion of the transfer element to move the transfer element along the longitudinal axis in a first direction; linking the container collar with the transfer element, a biasing mechanism to store biasing energy on moving the transfer element along the longitudinal axis in the first direction; and provided to the container collar, a pre-load mechanism to prevent transfer of the biasing energy to the container collar to move the drug discharge device along the longitudinal axis in the first direction to actuate the discharge mechanism until a pre-determined threshold force is overcome.

摘要: A medicament dispenser device suitable for the delivery of medicament powder from an open blister pocket of at least one blister pack, the dispenser device comprises (a) a housing; (b) provided to the housing, an air inlet; (c) enclosed by the housing, a dispensing mechanism for the dispensing of medicament powder from an open blister pocket of at least one blister pack receivable thereby; and (d) associated with the dispensing mechanism and in communication with said air inlet, a manifold comprising (i) a body, (ii) the body defining a chimney having a chimney inlet and a chimney exit for directing airflow from the chimney inlet to the chimney exit; (iii) the body further defining a chamber having a chamber inlet and a chamber exit, (iv) wherein the chimney exit and the chamber inlet lie side-by-side each other such that when the open blister pocket of the blister pack is positioned adjacent thereto the airflow will be directed from the chimney exit to the chamber inlet via the open blister pocket to entrain the medicament powder and enable transport thereof in the airflow from the chamber inlet to the chamber exit, wherein during inhaled use of the dispenser device by a patient, the airflow is drawn into the chimney of the manifold solely through the air inlet provided to the housing.

The body is shaped to be holdable in one hand and the mouthpiece actuator is actuable in response to a motion of the thumb on the same hand.

摘要: A counter (or recorder) for a pill dispenser (24), the counter (or recorder) comprising two relatively moveable chassis components (50, 52) forming part of a pill dispensement mechanism (21), a pill delivery or dispensement channel (32) for a pill or tablet (28) to pass through for dispensement and a counting (or recording) mechanism. The counting (or recording) mechanism comprises one or more actuation indicators (11), a ratchet pawl (14) for incrementally advancing a first (12) of the one or more actuation indicators (11) and a drive mechanism (16) for activating the ratchet pawl (14). The ratchet pawl (14) is mounted to a first of the two chassis components (50, 52). The drive mechanism (16) is mounted to the second of the two chassis components (50, 52). By this arrangement, by moving the two chassis components (50, 52) relative to each other, the drive mechanism (16) is moved relative to the ratchet pawl (14) and the pill dispensement mechanism (21) is actuated. The drive mechanism (16) is connected to a pill detect feature (18) that can move between a positive dispensement position and a negative dispensement position if the channel (32) is clear, the negative dispensement position being such that at least a part of the pill detect feature (18) is positioned within or blocking the pill delivery or dispensement channel (32), whereby the non-presence of a pill (28) within the channel (32) for dispensement, and therefore a failed dispensement, is confirmed. The movement from the positive dispensement position to the negative dispensement position prevents the drive mechanism (16) from activating the ratchet pawl (14) as the drive mechanism (16) moves relative to the ratchet pawl (16).

The monitor (40) provides the signal at a trigger point which is coupled to the end of the exhalation part of the breath cycle.
