摘要: Portable antenna test apparatus has a test set positioned a determined distance from a number of antennas (3) of an aircraft. A transmitting module (6) of the test set contains low frequency, mid frequency and high frequency antennas connected to a radio receiver (15) and power amplifier (14) in and of the test set for receiving control commands and for transmitting a number of simultaneous test signals to the number of antenna (3) in the aircraft. A signal generator (7) produce low frequency, mid frequency and high frequency signals. A hand-held computer (5) is connected to a communications radio (2) in and of the aircraft via a radio interface adapter (4) of the hand-held and a control computer (10) is connected to the signal generator. The hand-held computer transmits commands via the aircraft radio, which commands are received by the receiver in the transmitting module. This receiver conveys the said commands to a control computer which then programs the signal generator. By this means, an operator in the aircraft cockpit remotely controls the signal generator.

摘要: A system interface fault isolator uses time domain reflectometry test techniques to isolate faults from only one end of a cable, a cable string or component without requiring removal of the cable or component from the system interface. A separate maintenance control unit (2) includes a mass storage means (16) for storing TDR or VSWR signatures of a variety of systems board connected to the cable or component to be tested. VSWR data is obtained by processing the TDR data using software built in the maintenance control unit (2). The control unit is programmable to accommodate a variety of different system interfaces, and bit status data can be downloaded directly to the control unit. Two adaptors (6) are also provided, one of which is connected to the control unit to analyze a multi-line digital bus, and the other of which allows differential TDR measurements to be taken by the SI-FI on an MIL-STD-1553 bus.
