For irradiation verification, the z-coordinate of the irradiation verification device (1) is adjusted in the direction of the beam axis Z in such a way that, after the irradiation, areas with dead cell material can be differentiated from areas with still active cell material of the irradiation verification device (1) in spatial coordinates with reference to an irradiation concept. A container (2), with an insert (4) for the cell supports (3), and the cell support holders (5, 6) have a radioparent material. The cell support holders (5, 6) have a base plate (5) and a cover plate (6), between which the cell supports (3) are arranged orthogonal to the holder plates (5, 6). The holder plates (5, 6) have mutually aligned blind holes (8, 9) in which the cell support ends (10, 11) are arranged, the cell supports (3) being solid rods (12) on whose circumferential surfaces (13) the cell material is fixed.
