The airgap cooling system (140) includes a plurality of distribution passages (142) that extend through the lamination stack (124); a plurality of discharge passages (150) that extend between the plurality of distribution passages (142) and the airgap (130); a cooling manifold (160) defining an annular distribution plenum (164) in fluid communication with the plurality of distribution passages (142) , wherein the cooling manifold (160) is configured for receiving a cooling fluid (144) and directing the cooling fluid (144) into the distribution plenum (164), through the distribution passage (142) and the discharge passage (150), and into the airgap (130).

摘要: A planet gear train 200 for an engine casing 226 includes a sun gear 204 rotatable by a shaft 202, a ring gear 208, a plurality of planet gears 206 rotatably mounted in a planet carrier 210 and meshing with the sun gear 204 and the ring gear 208, and a damping system. The damping system includes a soft mount 212 disposed about the shaft 202 and coupling the planet carrier 210 the engine casing 226. The soft mount 212 includes a flexible inner sleeve 214 and a flexible outer sleeve 216. The flexible inner sleeve 214 and the flexible outer sleeve 216 are fixedly coupled together at respective central portions thereof near the shaft 202. The damping system further includes a plurality of damping couplers 218 disposed about an outer flange 232 of the planet carrier 210. The plurality of damping couplers is configured to flexibly couple the flexible inner sleeve 214 to the flexible outer sleeve 216.

Additionally, the housing (102) is formed integrally using an additive manufacturing process and is attached to or formed integrally with the bearing pad (104). The housing (102) defines a working gas delivery system (116) for providing a flow of pressurized working gas to the thrust face (108) of the bearing pad (104) and a fluid damper cavity (126). The fluid damper cavity (126) provides a dampening of the axial vibration supported by the thrust face (108) of the bearing pad (104) along the axial direction.

Further, the gas distribution labyrinth (156) includes a plurality of passageways (158) configured to evenly distribute pressurized gas entering the gas inlet (112) to an interface between the inner surface (108) of the bearing pad (106) and an outer diameter of the rotary component (148).
