For the electrode of a vacuum circuit-breaker, a part of a high-conductive metal member is infiltrated in voids of a porous high-melting metal member, and both metal members are integrally joined to each other. An arc electrode portion 13 is formed of a high-melting area in which the high-conductive metal is infiltrated in voids of the high-melting metal member. A coil electrode portion 14 is formed by hollowing the interior out of a high-conductive metal area, which is composed of only the high-conductive metal, and forming of slits (15...17) therein. A rod 18 is hard-brazed on the rear surface of the coil electrode portion 14. With this electrode, it is possible to reduce the number of parts and to omit the brazing portion between the arc electrode portion 13 and the coil electrode portion 14, thus lowering the electric resistance and the heat generated in operation.

The object of the present invention is to provide sliding members having preferable lubrication and seizure resistance. Sliding members comprising the columnar texture (5) which is composed from at least one of metal nitrides, metal oxides, metal carbides, and metals on the base member, wherein the columnar texture (5) is composed of assemblies of fine columnar asperities (1), intervals (3) formed between the columnar asperities (1) are connected each other so as to form a net work, and gaseous, liquid, or solid lubricants are maintained in the intervals (3). The mutually connected intervals (3) in the columnar texture (5) are superior in filling and holding of lubricants, and the above described superiorities improve lubrication and seizure resistance and extend sliding life.

In the vacuum circuit breaker, each of a fixed electrode and a movable side electrode includes an arc electrode made from particles of a refractory metal material, a high conductive metal material and a low melting point metal; an electrode supporting portion, made from the high conductive metal material, for supporting the arc electrode; a back conductor having a diameter smaller than the electrode supporting portion; and an external side connecting portion having a diameter larger than that of the back conductor. The arc electrode is integrated with the electrode supporting portion, back conductor, and external side connecting portion by the high conductive metal material, preferably, by melting of the highly conductive metal material.
