摘要: In a tank-type fast breeder reactor, a cylindrical barrier (24; 25; 27, 29) is positioned around each intermediate heat exchanger (7) to prevent main flow of coolant from the core directly contacting the intermediate heat exchanger (7) so that any thermal striping generated in the hot plenum (9) of the reactor is prevented from coming into direct contact with the intermediate heat exchanger (7). Thus, thermal fatigue ofthe structural members of the intermediate heat exchangers (7), during the normal operation of the reactor or transitional operation of the plant, e.g., when the reactor is scrammed, due to such thermal striping may be avoided.

摘要: A fast breeder reactor having an intermediate heat exchanger (21) into which a liquid metal in one of both cooling systems of a primary cooling system and a secondary cooling system of the fat breeder reactor is introduced as a primary fluid and a liquid metal in the other cooling system as a secondary fluid, the secondary cooling system being furnished with a pump which causes the liquid metal in this secondary cooling system to flow; characterized in that the intermediate heat exchanger (21) is constructed of a magnetic field generator (23, 24), and a channel which is so formed that its flow direction is set to a direction traversing a magnetic flux produced by the magnetic field generator, the channel being partitioned by an electrically-conductive heat transfer plate (30) to define a primary cooling system channel (31) through which the primary fluid is passed and a secondary cooling system channel (32) through which the secondary fluid is passed. When one of the primary and secondary fluids is caused to flow by the pump (6) within a magnetic flux established by the magnetic field generator (23, 24) and while defining an angle to the magnetic flux, current is induced, and the other fluid flows subject to the current and the magnetic flux of the magnetic field generator, whereby heat is exchanged between both the fluids through the heat transfer plate (30) during the flow of both the fluids. The common structure achieves a heat exchange function and a pumping function which can contribute to the miniaturization of the fast breeder reactor.

摘要: The present invention includes a method of air-conditioning which forms in a space to be air-conditioned, a plurality of circulating flows (A₁-A₄, B₁-B₄) of air respectively blown through air outlets (2C 1-4 , 2F 1-4 ; 3C 1-4 , 3F 1-4 ) of an air-conditioning system disposed at predetermined positions within this space and which successively repeats two steps: a first step of changing the effective range of at least one of the circulating flows; and a second step of returning that circulating flow or flows as effected in the first step to the effective range thereof which obtained before the first step, and an air-conditioning system for carrying out this method, which forms, in a space to be air-conditioned, a plurality of circulating flows of air respectively blown through air outlets of an air-conditioning system disposed at predetermined positions within the space and which comprises: a means (23, 24, 27) for changing the effective range of at least one of the circulating flows and returning that circulating flow or flows as changed to the effective range thereof which obtained before the range was changed; and a means (22) for conducting the repetition of the two effects of the above means.

摘要: A heat exchanger according to the present invention has a plurality of heat transfer tubes (10) fastened to upper and lower tube plates (5, 23) provided in a heat exchanger body (3). An upper plenum (24) is formed in the portion of the interior of the heat exchanger body (3) which is above the upper tube plate (23), and a lower plenum (6) in the portion thereof which is below the lower tube plate (5). The upper and lower plenums (24, 6) are communicated with each other via the heat transfer tubes (10). A downwardly-extending tube (16) extending through the upper plenum (24) upper tube plate (23) and used to introduce secondary sodium into the lower plenum (6) extends among the heat transfer tubes (10) to be fastened to the lower tube plate (5) and communicated with the lower plenum (6). The downwardly-extending tube (16) is stretched through the lower plenum in the axial direction thereof to contact at its lower end a bottom surface (34) of the heat exchanger body (3). A plurality of openings (17) are provided in a wall of the portion of the downwardly-extending tube which is in the lower plenum (6).
The primary sodium of a high temperature flows into the heat exchanger body from the portion thereof which is below the upper tube plate (23), and flows out of the heat exchanger body from the portion thereof which is above the lower tube plate. The method for supplying the secondary sodium of a low temperature is characterized in that the secondary sodium flows downward through the downwardly-extending tube (16) to be ejected in the horizontal direction from the above-mentioned openings (17) into the lower plenum (6). The secondary sodium ejected into the lower plenum flows in parallel currents therein to enter each of the heat transfer tubes and advance upward. The secondary sodium heated in the heat transfer tubes (10) is ejected into the upper plenum (24).-

A force (F, P) acting on the liquid metal (7) flow is increased and decreased by the interaction between the magnetic field (8) and the electric current (11). An apparatus for preforming the method comprising material (10) varying in electric property with the temperature of the liquid metal (7). The material is in at least one of a path of the magnetic field (8), a path of the electric current (11) and means for generating the magnetic field. Variation of the electric property of the material allows one of the magnetic field (8) and the electric current (11) to be automatically increased or decreased in intensity in response to the temperature of the liquid metal (7), so that the force (F, P) acting on the liquid metal flow (7) is controlled.
