摘要:
For a denitration catalyst used for a denitration treatment of a combustion exhaust gas, for example, from a coal-fired boiler or the like, such a denitration catalyst is provided that has a sufficient mechanical strength capable of retaining the catalyst shape, has a better catalyst performance than the ordinary denitration catalyst containing crystals of zirconium oxide, is low in production cost. In the denitration catalyst comprising, as a base material, a honeycomb structure consisting of an inorganic fiber sheet, titania, vanadium oxide and/or tungsten oxide, and a zirconium compound (except for crystalline zirconium dioxide) as a shape-retaining binder are supported on the honeycomb structure.

[Problem] To provide a method for processing (an) edge(s) of a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure in an exhaust gas denitration apparatus, the method being capable of filling fine cracks on a surface of the catalyst layer which will become a cause of abrasion of an edge of the catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure by solid particles such as dust particles, coal ashes, etc. in an exhaust gas and sufficiently compensating abrasion resistant strength of the edge of the honeycomb structure. [Solution] In a catalyst-carrying honeycomb structure in an exhaust gas denitration apparatus, a corrugated plate-like inorganic fiber sheet and a flat plate-like inorganic fiber sheet, each supporting thereon a denitration catalyst containing a silica sol, titania particles, and ammonium metavanadate as a whole primary denitration catalyst layer, are alternately laminated. In a method for processing (an) edge(s) of a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure, at least the edge of gas inlet side among the gas inlet side and the gas outlet side of the denitration catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure having the whole primary denitration catalyst layer is(are) dipped in a denitration catalyst-containing slurry for edge processing composed of a silica sol, titania particles or kaolin particles, and ammonium metatungstate to form (a) coating layer(s) of the denitration catalyst-containing slurry in the edge(s) of the honeycomb structure, and this(these) is(are) dried and then calcinated to form (an) edge secondary denitration catalyst layer(s).

[Problem] To form a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure using a commercially available, inexpensive glass fiber paper as a base material. To provide a processing apparatus equipped with a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure, as well as a method for manufacturing the same, in which the manufacturing cost is low without requiring large-scale equipment such as a dipping tank, a drying device, etc. as conventionally used for a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure; for example, in an exhaust gas cleaning process or the like, even if a solid content in a gas to be processed clogs in cells of the catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure, this can be easily regenerated; and a lowering of a contact area of the gas to be processed or an increase of a pressure loss can be prevented from occurring.[Solution] In a processing apparatus (10) equipped with a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure, a corrugated plate-like glass fiber paper (2) having a functional catalyst supported thereon and a flat plate-like glass fiber paper (3) having the same functional catalyst supported thereon are alternately laminated without being bonded to each other, to form a catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure (1), and this catalyst-supporting honeycomb structure (1) is packed in a casing (4).
