Films containing a plasticiser based on partially acetalised polyvinyl alcohols, especially PVB, adapted in such a manner that the intermediate layer in the composite security glass exhibit, aswell as excellent adhesiveness with respect to glass, non-desirable self-adhesiveness (blocking-tendency). A pentaerythrite ester of between 0.0001 0.1 wt % is therefore used as an additive to reduce said adhesiveness. Said additive does not alter the adhesiveness of the film with respect to glass. The invention is used in the production of films for producing composite security glass. The need for cooling the films in order for them to stacked or rolled up is greatly reduced.

Known intermediate foils for compound glasses with improved sound insulation consist of several layers or special materials which cannot be further processed in conventional plants. The aim of the present invention is to provide an intermediate foil for compound glasses with improved sound insulation, whereby said foil consists of one layer as far as possible and is based upon PVB. Said intermediate foil allows for an improved sound insulation of the compound glasses in room temperature and has essentially unchanged working properties, whereby said compound glasses are produced from the intermediate foil. To resolve the aim of the invention, an intermediate foil is provided which contains: 50 to 80 wt. % PVB (partially acetalised polyvinyl alcohol), 20 to 50 wt. % of a softener mixture containing 30 to 70 wt. %, calculated as a portion of the softener mixture, of one or more polyalkylene glycoles of the group consisting of polyalkylene glykoles of the general formula HO-(R-O)n-H with R = alkylene and n > 5, block copolymers made of ethylene- and propylene glycole of the general formula HO-(CH2-CH2-O)n-(CH2-CH(CH3)-O)m-H with n > 2, m > 3 and (n+m) 2, m > 3 and (n+m) 2, wherein the hydrogen of one of the two terminal hydroxygroups of the polyalkylene glycol is replaced by an organic Rest R1, derivatives of polyalkylene glycols of the general formula R1-O-(R2-O)n-R3 with R2 = alkylene and n > 5, wherein the hydrogen of the two terminal hydroxygroups of the polyalkylene glycol is replaced by an organic Rest R1 or R3.

Composite glass with films based on partially acetalated polyvinyl alcohol containing a softening agent, especially PVB based, as an intermediate layer with magnesium salts or calcium salts of organic acids as an adhesion-reducing additive (anti-adhesive agent) exhibit large amounts of fluctions with regard to adhesion when the composite glass is subjected to thermal stress. According to the invention, phosphorous compounds are used, selected from the group consisting of organophosphites i.e. esters of phosphorinic acid with organic radicals, organophosphates, i.e. esters of orthonophosphoric acid, as an additive which during further processing compensates for fluctations in adhesion in films based on partially acetalated polyvinyl alcohol containing a softening agent. The invention is used in the production of films for the manufacture of safety glass, especially used in the building and automotive industry.

Previously, the use of triethylenglycol-di-2-ethylhexanoate otherwise known as 3G8 or 3GEH as a plastifying agent having a low polarity for polyvinylbutyral films (PVB films) was restricted to PVB types having a polyvinylalcohol content (PVOH) of less than19.5 wt. %. According to the invention, one or several surfactants is/are used as an additive in order to increase the solubility or compatibility of the low-polarity plastifying agent in PVB resin, thereby enabling the use of low-polarity plastifying agents such as 3G8, particularly in standard-PVD-based mixtures. A multiple ethoxylated aliphatic or aromatic alcohol is used as a non-ionic surfactant, containing at least 6 carbon atoms in the alcohol proportion thereof, having an average ethoxylation degree which is greater than or equal to 2. The invention is used for PVB preparations containing a plastifying agent, especially a standard-PVD-based plastifying agent, in the production of films for composite security glass.
