A method and an appratus for transmitting a reference signal is provided, and flexibly configuration of resource used for bearing the RS may be implemented. The method includes: selecting, by a first point device, a first frequency domain resource used for bearing a first reference signal RS from a first carrier, wherein the first carrier is used for data transmission and/or measurement between the first point device and a user equipment, and a number of a resource unit included in the first frequency domain resource is smaller than a system bandwidth of the first carrier; and transmitting the first RS to the user equipment through the first frequency domain resource. According to the method and the appratus for transmitting the reference signal in the embodiments of the present invention, after determinting the resource used for bearing the RS from the first carrier, the first point device transmits the RS to a user equipment through the determined resource, to make the position of the resource used for bearing the RS in the first carrier be not fixed, so that the cost of the resource used for bearing the RS may be reduced and the resource used for bearing the RS may be configured flexibly.

A method and an apparatus for implementing channel measurement are disclosed in the present invention. The method includes: determining an antenna port subset, which is required to be measured, for a UE according to current state information of the user equipment UE; and informing the UE to perform channel measurement for the subset of antenna ports that is required to be measured and feed back channel state information. Through the present invention, when the state information of the UE meets a certain condition, the UE measures only the reference signals of a part of antenna ports, and feeds back channel state information for this part of antenna ports. Therefore, the overhead generated by the feedback of the UE to the channel state information is reduced.

The method includes: determining, by UE, K available root sequences for uplink random access according to a preset policy, where a maximum quantity of detection windows of single UE that can be supported by each of the K available root sequences is 2M+1, and maximum detection windows of the single UE that can be supported by each available root sequence do not overlap with each other, where K‰¥1, M is a detection window parameter, M>1, and both K and M are integers; and performing, by the UE, uplink random access according to the k th available root sequence of the K available root sequences, where 1‰¤k‰¤K and k is an integer.
