摘要： An apparatus for sorting sheets includes a sorting section (4) having boxes (40), a separating section (1), and a printing section (3), the latter two of which are respectively located on both sides of the sorting section. The sorting section (1) includes a separating mechanism (11) for downwardly feeding out sheets (10) in a constant gap system, a recognizing mechanism (11) for scanning character information described on each sheet (10), a bar code scanning unit (12a) for scanning bar code information, and a conveying path (13) of the separating section for conveying the sheets (10) fed out of the separating mechanism (11). The printing section (3) includes a printing mechanism (31) for printing the recognized result as the bar code information on the sheets (10), a verifying mechanism (31a) for verifying the printed result, and a conveying path (32) of the printing section for feeding out the sheet (10) on which the bar code is printed to the sorting section (4). In an upper space (2) of the sorting section (4) is located a delaying conveying path (21) for connecting the conveying path (13) of the separating section (1) with the conveying path (32) of the printing section (3) and securing the recognizing time.
