摘要: This application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. A second access network device receives a first message from a first access network device, where the first message indicates whether a first state of an MBS session is activated or deactivated; and the second access network device sends a first acknowledgment message corresponding to the first message to the first access network device. In this solution, the first message indicates the first state of the MBS session, and the second access network device may determine, based on the first state, whether to request a core network to establish a UP tunnel. If the first state of the MBS session is activated, the second access network device may trigger to newly establish a UP tunnel, to ensure normal transmission of the MBS in a handover process; or if the first state of the MBS session is deactivated, the second access network device may not trigger to newly establish a UP tunnel or may request to newly establish and suspend a UP tunnel, to avoid a resource waste problem.

摘要: This application provides a communication method and apparatus, and relates to the field of communication technologies, to ensure service continuity of an MBS of a terminal device in a cell handover process. The method includes: A first access network device configures, as a second radio bearer that is used to carry a unicast service, a first radio bearer that is currently used to carry an MBS between the first access network device and a terminal device. The first access network device sends the MBS to the terminal device in a unicast mode through the second radio bearer. In this way, in a process in which the terminal device is subsequently handed over to a second access network device, the first access network device and the second access network device directly switch an MBS, that is being transmitted, to the second access network device in a current unicast service switching manner. This resolves a disruption of the MBS caused because the second access network device does not support a multicast and broadcast transmission mode.
