Embodiments of this application are applied to sending an LSA in a leaf-spine topology or a fat-tree topology.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications technologies, and disclose a performance-based routing method and device, which can implement exchange of a performance route by expanding a BGP protocol. The method includes: receiving, by a first PCR, first performance routing information sent by a second PCR, where the first performance routing information includes a first performance parameter attribute; determining whether a performance route corresponding to the first performance routing information exists in an adjacent routing information base-in Adj-RIB-in of the first PCR; and adding the performance route to the Adj-RIB-in when the performance route does not exist in the Adj-RIB-in. In the performance-based routing method and device provided by the embodiments of the present invention, exchange of a performance route is implemented and the performance route is used for packet routing, thereby providing better service experience for a user.

A communications network includes multiple point of presence (PoP) groups, where each of the PoP groups includes one or more PoP nodes. PoP nodes within the same PoP group issue routing information of the same super prefix. PoP nodes within different PoP groups issue routing information of different super prefixes. The method further includes the following steps. A PoP node acquires routing information of a detailed prefix covered by a super prefix issued by the PoP node and synchronizes the routing information of the detailed prefix with other PoP nodes within the same PoP group. The method, system, and device reduce flow of data forwarded by each PoP node.

A method and system for improving a quality of communication based on a label distribution protocol is provided, and the method includes the following steps. When a local label switching router (LSR) finds out a change of a route at an upstream node in a multicast label switching path (LSP), it calculates and sets up a new optimized multicast LSP according to the label distribution protocol (LDP), and delays to send a withdraw request to the upstream node in the former multicast LSP. Through the embodiments of the disclosure, an interruption of the data stream in the multicast LSP reconstruction procedures can be avoided or reduced, so that the losing of data packets caused by the multicast LSP adjustment is greatly reduced, and the quality of communication of the multicast is improved.

This application discloses a multicast forwarding method and an apparatus, so as to help a BFIR obtain information about a BFER included in a multicast group and help implement rapid deployment of a BIER multicast network. A BFER in a BIER network may determine, according to information that is about a multicast group in a multicast receiver list and that is obtained in advance, an IP address of a registration router that supports the multicast group; the BFER generates a BFER registration message according to the information about the multicast group and the IP address of the registration router that supports the multicast group, where the BFER registration message includes the information about the multicast group, a destination IP address of the BFER registration message is the IP address of the registration router, and a source IP address of the BFER registration message is an IP address of the BFER; and the BFER sends the BFER registration message to the registration router. After receiving the BFER registration message sent by the BFER, the registration router in the BIER network may obtain a BFER entry according to the BFER registration message, where the BFER entry includes the information about the multicast group and the IP address of the BFER.

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for processing a host route in a virtual subnet, a related device and a communications system. The method for processing a host route in the virtual subnet includes: receiving, by a first provider edge device, a packet for address resolution, where a virtual subnet site in which the first provider edge device is located further includes at least one second provider edge device; determining, by the first provider edge device, whether a source MAC address carried in the packet is a virtual MAC address; and when it is determined that the source MAC address is a virtual MAC address, skipping performing at least one of the following operations: saving a local CE host routing table entry corresponding to a source IP address carried in the packet, or distributing, in the virtual subnet based on a routing protocol of a layer 3 VPN, a local CE host route corresponding to the IP address. Technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention are helpful to avoid forming a CE host routing loop to a greatest extent, further improving efficiency of data packet transmission between CE hosts.
