A method for switching a service, applied to a network in which a service switches to a protection path when a working path fails, includes determining whether the working path is restored when an end node of the service detects a change in topology of the network; and switching the service from the protection path back to the working path when the working path is restored, otherwise terminating the method. A network node for implementing the method is also disclosed. In this invention, the service switching is triggered according to the change in topology of the network instead of the alarm disappearance. Therefore, the spread of alarm messages decreases. Moreover, by using the embodiment of the present invention, the revertive processing is implemented when parts of sources are shared by a protection path and an original working path.

Embodiments of the present invention relate a method, an apparatus, and a system for assigning a tributary port number. The method includes: receiving a service path request message which is sent by a neighboring node and carries a service type; determining, according to the service path request message, an OTU link used to bear the ODU service, determining and reserving, according to the service type in the service path request message, a free tributary slot resource used to bear the ODU service in the OTU link, and assigning a tributary port number to the free tributary slot resource; and sending a service path acknowledgment message to the neighboring node. In the method, apparatus, and system for assigning a tributary port number in the embodiments of the present invention, the tributary port number is obtained automatically instead of being assigned manually through a network management system, and therefore, the efficiency of assigning the tributary port number is improved. Because the manual operation is avoided, the error rate of assigning the tributary port number is reduced.

The present invention refers to the field of network communication technique, and in examples a method for realizing service protection in the automatically switched optical network is provided. The method includes following steps: after any defect occurs on the working paths that carry the service, the first node and the last node of the said working paths send the requests to recover the paths establishment in opposite directions respectively; the middle nodes on the recovering paths establish connections according to the recovering paths establishment request, and transmit the said recovering paths establishment request in every hopping, until the establishment of the said recovering paths is finished; the service is switched from the said working paths to the said recovering paths. A system for realizing service protection in the automatically switched optical network and a node device in the automatically switched optical network are also provided. The paths recovering process can be faster observably using this invention, and the recovering time can be cut, and the work efficiency and reliability can be improved, and the service can be promised to set right.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of network technologies and disclose a method and an apparatus for establishing a forwarding adjacency - label switched path connection. This ensures that an FA-LSP, after being established, is capable of bearing client signals that meet requirements of a client layer network. The technical solutions provided in the present invention includes: acquiring a first connection establishment request message; determining a destination link according to a type information, a first adaptation information, and a link peer information saved by a first node; and sending a second connection establishment request message to a destination node, where the second connection establishment request message carries destination link information, so that the destination node establishes a connection to the first node through the destination link according to the second connection establishment request message.
