The present invention also relates to methods for the detection of Rab3a, SNAP25 and alpha -synuclein in cerebrospinal fluid and to the use of these methods in a combination assay for specific detection, quantification and/or differential diagnosis of neurodegeneration.

This new method comprises the step of determining and/or quantifying the level of tau in said individual and comparing it to the level of tau in control healthy individuals.
