A Wi-Fi device may identify, when the Wi-Fi device is associated to a first access point (AP), a second AP to which to transfer connection; transmit, to the first AP or the second AP, when the Wi-Fi device is associated to the first AP, a request to transfer connection to the second AP; identify a response, received from the first AP or the second AP, indicating that the second AP is available to transfer connection from the first AP to the second AP; transmit an association request to the first AP or to the second AP, the association request indicating a request to associate to the second AP; and identify an association response, received from the first AP or from the second AP, indicating that the Wi-Fi device is associated to the second AP.
