    摘要: The present invention discloses methods, systems and computer programs to make personal shopping baskets or shopping carts compatible with fraud detection systems already in place in RFID cash registers. To prevent that a malevolent customer removes or masks RFID labels, shopping carts are weighed with their content. This operation supposes that all shopping carts of a same store are identical and have the same weight. After subtraction of the weight of the shopping cart from the total weight, the weight of the content is correlated with the list of the articles detected by the RFID reader of the cash register. In the context of the present invention where personal baskets and personal shopping carts are not identical, it is necessary first to identify them in order to compute the exact weight of the content. To recognize a shopping cart among the thousands of shopping carts present in a store, the use of the RFID technology is a very simple and very efficient solution. A RFID tag is integrated in the structure of the basket or the shopping cart in order to improve the fraud detection system. It is also possible to include in the RFID tag, information like the weight, size, color, type, form, ..... of the shopping cart or basket.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a system, method and computer program for managing a floating window on a computer screen according to its relative position with an active window associated with a computer application, so that the active window remains totally or partially visible on the computer screen. When the floating window partially or totally overlaps the active window, the floating window is either moved, or resized or hidden. The floating window can be restored to its initial size and position on the computer screen as soon as the initial floating window does not partially or totally hides the active window any more. In a particular embodiment, when the cursor hits the front end window, this front end window is automatically moved to keep the text that is being entered visible. To do this, a daemon spies and tracks all the user input activities such as the mouse and the keyboard inputs.

    摘要: The present invention relates to the field of information processing by digital computers, and more particularly to a method and system, in an electronic spreadsheet, for handling user-defined options during a copy/cut - paste operation when the source range of cells comprises one or a plurality of cells with user-defined options and when the destination environment does not necessarily defines the same user-defined options as the ones defined in the source environment. The method of handling user-defined options during a copy and paste or a cut and paste operation comprises the steps of:

    defining one or a plurality of combinations, each combination comprising one or a plurality of options;
    defining a source cell range and a destination cell range;
    defining an operation to execute, either copy and paste, or cut and paste;
    for each defined option combination comprising one or a plurality of options, if at least one cell in the source cell range comprises a reference to said one or plurality of options,

    computing the content of each cell within the source cell range according to said one or plurality of options;
    creating a version instance of the destination cell range;
    copying the source range of cells into said version instance.
    when the last option combination is copied,

    clearing the source cell range if the operation is cut and paste.

    摘要: In a wireless communication system (106), base stations (118, 120) are connected to a backbone network (116) such as a wired LAN and act as access points and relays for remote stations (128, 132, 136). A remote station registers and performs bidirectionnal communication with one of the base stations designated as its home base station. Base stations have overlapping coverage areas where a remote station is within reception range of several base stations. Such communication system may for instance be a multicell radio LAN using frequency hopping signaling. The method allows to reuse a limited number of network resources such as frequency hopping patterns and assign the same resource to several active base stations. Upon request from a base station, a network controller (110) connected to the backbone network computes a distance index between the requesting base station and the other active base stations and assigns to the requesting base station the same network resource as the one assigned to another base station with the highest distance index. Information about cells overlaps is centralized in a control database (109) and used by the network controller to compute distance indexes.

    摘要: Methods for handoff in a wireless communication network comprised of a local area network connected to a plurality of base stations, each of which has a geographic area, defined as a cell, within which mobile stations can communicate with a base station, with each such base station being capable of performing bidirectional wireless communication with one or more of said mobile stations under control of a controller, with communication between base stations and mobile stations being performed by frequency hopping, with there being n available frequency hopping channels in a fixed frequency band, with each channel being of a same fixed duration and having a fixed frequency different than another channel. The handoff method employs structure and techniques for determining by a mobile station that the quality of transmission between it and a current base station has degraded below a predetermined performance level, structure and technique for said mobile station to listen to each of successive frequency channels for a duration substantially less than said fixed duration of a channel until it senses a transmission from another base station, and structure and techniques for transferring control of said mobile station to said another base station in response to the sensed transmission.
