A terminal device determines a first slice group including a first network slice, where the first network slice is a network slice to be accessed by the terminal device; determines a first cell from one or more cells, where a relative priority of the first slice group in the first cell is highest in the one or more cells, or a dedicated priority corresponding to the first slice group in the first cell is highest in the one or more cells; and accesses the first network slice in the first cell, where the one or more cells are cells in which the terminal device can receive broadcast information and a tracking area code TAC carried in the broadcast information identifies a first tracking area, and the first tracking area is a tracking area TA that can support the first network slice, or the one or more cells are cells in which the terminal device can receive broadcast information and the broadcast information carries the first slice group. According to the method, the terminal device can preferably select a specific cell to access the first network slice.

    摘要： Embodiments of this application disclose a synchronization advancing method and a communication apparatus. The method may include: A terminal device receives a first message from a first access network device, where the first message is used by the terminal device to obtain a timing advance TA of the terminal device in a target cell, and the target cell is not a cell currently accessed by the terminal device. The terminal device sends a second message to the first access network device, where the second message indicates that the terminal device has completed configuration of the target cell. In embodiments of this application, the terminal device receives the first message from the first access network device. The terminal device has completed downlink synchronization before obtaining configuration information of the target cell, and the terminal device may obtain the TA of the terminal device in the target cell when obtaining the configuration information of the target cell, to complete uplink synchronization in advance, thereby reducing a cell handover delay.
