    摘要: Embodiments of this application disclose a synchronization advancing method and a communication apparatus. The method may include: A terminal device receives a first message from a first access network device, where the first message is used by the terminal device to obtain a timing advance TA of the terminal device in a target cell, and the target cell is not a cell currently accessed by the terminal device. The terminal device sends a second message to the first access network device, where the second message indicates that the terminal device has completed configuration of the target cell. In embodiments of this application, the terminal device receives the first message from the first access network device. The terminal device has completed downlink synchronization before obtaining configuration information of the target cell, and the terminal device may obtain the TA of the terminal device in the target cell when obtaining the configuration information of the target cell, to complete uplink synchronization in advance, thereby reducing a cell handover delay.
