The arrester comprises a detent profiled piece, which consists of recesses and elevations, which is located on one of the two brackets, and with which a detent element engages with the other of the two brackets while being placed under pressure, particularly spring pressure. The detent element executes a relative movement along the detent profiled piece when the door is pivoted and engages in one of the recesses of the detent profiled piece in order to arrest the door during opening or closing. In order to reliably hold the door in intermediate positions or in the end position, the inventive door hinge is characterized in that the detent element consists of a rotor having at least two blades, and the blades form roll pairings with adjacent recesses on the detent profiled piece when the rotor is displaced.
