    摘要: A hot melt adhesive or other thermoplastic material dispensing valve assembly (100) comprises a pair of oppositely disposed electromagnetic solenoid assemblies (104,106) which alternatively act upon a pair of armatures (224,226) which are fixedly mounted upon a valve stem (218), upon which is fixedly mounted a valve member (216), so as to rapidly and assuredly control the reciprocal movements of the valve stem (218), and the valve member (216) attached thereto, between its unseated or OPENED position and its seated or CLOSED position. A coil spring (232) also biases the valve stem and the valve member toward the seated or CLOSED position such that when both of the electromagnetic solenoid assemblies are deenergized, the coil spring maintains the valve member (216) at its seated or CLOSED position upon the valve seat (190).

    摘要: For use in a combustion-powered, fastener-driving tool (10) having a combustion chamber (c), a source of a combustible fuel (30), and a switch (14,16) that must be closed to enable the tool (10), a fuel system comprises a fuel injector (60), which includes a normally closed, solenoid-energized valve (62) between the fuel source (30) and the combustion chamber (c), and an electronic circuit responsive to the switch (14) for energizing the solenoid (7) to open the valve (62) when the switch (14) is closed and for deenergizing the solenoid (7) after a time interval. A resistive-capacitive network defining the time interval includes a first resistor (140), a second resistor (144) arranged to be selectively connected in parallel therewith, a thermistor (142) connected in parallel therewith, and a variable resistor (148) connected to the parallel resistors. Another network effects a time delay between closure of the switch (14) and energization of the solenoid (7). Optionally, another network varies the time interval in response to ambient pressure.

    摘要: A fuel system is provided for a combustion-powered tool (10) having a self-contained internal combustion power source (16) with a combustion chamber (62), and constructed and arranged for driving a drive blade (88) to impact a fastener (N) and drive it into a workpiece. The tool (10) includes a housing (12) having a main chamber (14) enclosing the power source (16) and having a first end (28) adjacent a nosepiece (76) wherein the fasteners (N) are positioned prior to driving, and a second end (34) opposite the first end (28) and adjacent the combustion chamber (62). A fuel cell chamber (18) is in communication with the main chamber (14) and has a first chamber end (28) corresponding to the first end (28) of the main chamber (14) and a second chamber end (40) corresponding to the second end (34) of the main chamber (14). A fuel metering valve (44) is disposed in the fuel cell chamber (18) at the first end (38) so that a fuel cell (50) having a fuel outlet end (52) operationally inserted into the fuel cell chamber (18) will engage the valve (44) so that fuel is dispensed into the valve in a location closer to the first chamber end (38) than to the second chamber end (40).
