摘要:
The method for separating a fluid mixture comprising at least first and second fluid components comprises; admitting fluid mixture into an adsorptive separation system comprising at least one parallel passage adsorbent contactor structure (102), the contactor structure comprising a plurality of substantially parallel fluid flow passages (110) oriented in a first axial direction between an inlet end (104) and an outlet end (106) thereof; and at least one axially continuous axially thermally conductive adsorbent material; admitting the fluid mixture into the inlet end (104) of the parallel passage adsorbent contactor structure to flow towards the outlet end (106) in the first axial direction; adsorbing at least a portion of the first fluid component on the adsorbent material; transferring heat from a heat of adsorption of the first fluid component on the adsorbent material along the contactor structure in a second axial direction towards the inlet end (104) and opposite to the first axial direction during the adsorbing; recovering a first product fluid depleted in first fluid component relative to thefluid mixture from the outlet end (106); desorbing at least a portion of the first fluid component from the adsorbent material by heating the latterl; transferring the heat of adsorption along at least a portion of the adsorbent material in either of the axial directions to provide at least a portion of the heat of desorption of the first fluid component during desorbing; and recovering a desorbed second product fluid enriched in the first fluid component from the inlet end (104) and/or the outlet end (106).
摘要:
The structure (102, 302, 402, 502, 602, 702, 802, 902) comprises one or more segments (404, 604) having axially oriented substantially parallel fluid flow passages (110, 304, 410, 510, 610,710,810,910); cell walls (112, 312, 412, 512, 612, 712, 812, 912) between adjacent fluid flow passages, each cell wall having at least two opposite cell wall surfaces, and comprising (in or on a cell wall surface) at least one active compound that can interact with a fluid contained within or passed through the passages; and a plurality of axially continuous, axially oriented, filaments (114, 314, 414, 514, 614,714, 814,914) that are thermally and/or electrically conductive for transfer of thermal energy from the active compound. According to the invention the filaments are embedded within the cell walls in direct contact with the active compound on or in the cell wall surface, and can transfer thermal energy between the active compound and the conductive filaments.
