    摘要： A cutting tool (10) has a cutting insert (12) and a holder (12). The cutting insert (14) has a cutting portion (16) and an insert shank (16) with a cylindrical portion and a non-cylindrical portion(30). The holder(12) has a clamping portion which has a clamping sleeve (42) and a cage (40) located therein. The cage includes a load member housing(48) with a load member(62). The cage has a major abutment wall connected to a minor abutment wall. The clamping sleeve (42) has first and second inner sections defined by points Pl and P2. A point P3 divides the second inner section into first and second portions. The clamping sleeve (42) is rotatable between a secured and a released position of the cutting tool. In the secured position, the non-cylindrical portion abuts the major abutment wall, the cylindrical portion buts both the minor abutment wall and the load member, and the load member abuts the first portion.

    摘要： A milling collet (14) is disclosed that includes a pull-out preventer (50). The pull-out preventer (50) is configured to prevent axial migration of a fluted milling tool (12, figs 1 , 3 & 4 ) out of the milling collet (14) . The milling collet (14) includes a through-hole (44) extending from a rear-end aperture (46; fig 2B ) to an opposing cutting-end aperture (48) of a basic body (42) thereof. The pull-out preventer (50) is located at the cutting-end aperture (48) of the basic body (42). Also claimed is a method of retaining a fluted milling cutter (12) in a milling collet (14).
