摘要： An electromagnetic wave of a predetermined frequency equal to the resonance frequency of a resonator (41) travels form an input waveguide (2) through the resonator (41) into an output waveguide (31) and is emitted from a drop port (P31). A reflective portion (211) disposed on the input waveguide side and a reflective portion (311) disposed on the output waveguide side reflect an electromagnetic wave of the predetermined frequency. The following relations are satisfied. Qinb/(1-cosθ1)«Qv Qinb/(1-cosθ1)=Qinr/(1-cosθ2) θ1, θ2≠2Nπ(N=0, 1,···) where θ1 is the variation of phase of the electromagnetic wave reflected by the reflective portion (211) on the input waveguide side, θ2 is the variation of phase of the electromagnetic wave reflected by the reflective portion (311) on the output waveguide side, Qinb is the Q value between the resonator (41) and the input waveguide (2), Qinr is the Q value between the resonator (41) and the output waveguide (3), and Qv is the Q value between the resonator (41) and the free space.

摘要： An electromagnetic frequency filter comprises a resonator (15) which is arranged between and close to an input waveguide (13) and an output waveguide (14) and resonant with an electromagnetic wave of a certain frequency. The output waveguide (14) is so formed that it is parallel to the input waveguide (13) in a certain area (18) near the resonator (15) while it is at a farther distance from the input waveguide (13) in the area other than the certain area (18) when compared with the distance between the two waveguides in the certain area (18). This electromagnetic frequency filter can be preferably formed using a two-dimensional photonic crystal.
