摘要:
According to the invention, when upper and lower surfaces of a hot sheet material are to be machined by rotation of milling cutters, which interpose the hot sheet material from above and below, while the hot sheet material runs, a cutting resistance determined by a kind of the hot sheet material and a cutting condition including temperatures at the time of machining and depth of cut is controlled through adjustment of the depth of cut, and the hot sheet material is machined while breakage thereof is prevented with tension caused in the hot sheet material by the cutting resistance kept smaller than a breaking strength of joined portions of the material.

This invention relates to a continuous hot rolling method having the steps of cutting off a rear end portion of a preceding metal piece and a front end portion of a subsequent metal piece, heating the resultant metal pieces, increasing the temperature thereof, bonding the two metal pieces together by pressing them, and then subjecting the metal pieces to finishing rolling. While the metal plates are heated, subjected to a temperature increasing operation and pressed, the region of each metal piece which is between a clamping portion thereof and the end portion thereof is restrained, whereby the deformation of the end portions (front and rear end portion) of the metal pieces is prevented.
摘要:
According to the present invention, a rear end portion of a preceding metal piece and a front end portion of a subsequent metal piece are heated, pressed and joined prior to the finishing hot rolling thereof, by placing the two metal pieces so that the rear end portion of the preceding metal piece and the front end portion of the subsequent metal piece are spaced from and opposed to each other, heating the metal pieces with an alternating field, which passes through the metal pieces in the direction of the thickness thereof, generated in the opposed surface-side end regions of the metal pieces, and partially generating an alternating field, which extends in the direction opposite to the direction in which the previously-mentioned alternating field extends, in the opposed surface-side end regions which agree with either metal piece-existing regions or regions outside of the widthwise ends of the metal pieces, whereby the whole of widthwise parts of the opposed surface-side end regions of the metal pieces are heated uniformly to enable the two metal pieces to be joined reliably.
