The invention relates to a device for the production of a hollow building block from a hydraulically-hardening moist building block mass with an open-topped form (1), comprising internal webs (4), projecting from a form base (2), arranged at lateral separations from each other within form walls, to give the hollow chambers of the hollow building block and a filling carriage (9) which may be propelled along a track (6) over the form (1), which provides a housing chamber (12), defined by circumferential walls (13) and with a sieve bottom (14) for discharge of the building block mass contained therein. According to the invention, an even filling of the form (1) may be achieved, whereby the sieve bottom (14) is mounted in the filling carriage (9) such as to be capable of being oscillated, is connected to an oscillating drive (16) and comprises sieve openings of various sizes with an opening cross-section preventing the free passage of the moist building block mass under the inherent weight thereof, with a distribution over the form cross-section dependent on the shape of the circumferential walls (13) of the housing chamber (12) and/or the form walls and the arrangement of the internal webs and said filling carriage (9) may be locked in a filling position defined by stops over the form (1).

According to the invention, simple construction proportions may be achieved, whereby the stirrer gear (7) comprises stirring units (10), distributed over the cross-section of the container, each of which has a rotor parallel to the container axis with stirring rods (14), distributed around the circumference between end retainers (12, 13), parallel to said axis, which may be driven alternately in opposing directions.
