A DLC film coated plastic container having the same degree of oxygen barrier as a conventional one and preventing a DLC film at the neck part thereof from being colored and a device and a method for manufacturing the plastic container, the device comprising a material gas supply means having a container side electrode forming a part of a depressurizing chamber for storing the container having the neck part provided thereto and an opposed electrode corresponding to the container side electrode disposed inside the container or on the upper side of the opening part of the container opposed to each other through an insulator forming a part of the depressurizing chamber, a material gas inlet pipe, an exhausting means, and a high frequency supply means, characterized in that the container side electrode is formed so that the averaged inner bore diameter of an inner wall around the neck part of the container when the container is stored is smaller than the averaged inner bore diameter of the inner wall around the body part thereof, and an averaged distance between the outer wall of the container and the inner wall of the container side electrode on a cross section relative to the vertical direction of the container at the neck part is formed larger than an averaged distance between the outer wall of the container and the inner wall of the container side electrode on a cross section relative to the vertical direction of the container at the body part.

A device for manufacturing a DLC film-coated plastic container, characterized in that a container side electrode forming a part of a depressurizing chamber for storing the plastic container and a mouth side electrode disposed at the upper part of the opening part of the plastic container are opposed to each other through an insulator forming a part of the depressurizing chamber, a material gas inlet pipe formed of an insulating material for leading material gas fed to the depressurizing chamber by a material gas feeding means for feeding the material gas plasmatised to apply a DLC film on the inside wall surface of the plastic container to the inside of the plastic container is installed in the depressurizing chamber, an exhaust means is installed on the device to exhaust the gas in the depressurizing chamber from the upper part of the opening part of the plastic container, and a high frequency feed means is connected to the device to feed high frequency to the container side electrode, whereby plasma can be stably ignited and the discharge can be sustained and, at the same time, dust can be prevented from being adhered to the mouth side electrode by disposing the mouth side electrode opposed to the container side electrode on the outside of the container.
