Disclosed is a color image forming system comprising an optical scanning exposure apparatus by which scanning is made on a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material, wherein a He-Cd gas laser is used as a blue light source and a He-Ne gas laser is used as a green light source, respectively; or wherein a He-Ne gas laser is used as a green light source and at least one layer of the light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material contains silver chloride in an amount of 90 to 100 mole %. The color image forming system of this invention has a scanning exposure apparatus using inexpensive, stable, compact and long-life light sources, and can obtain a color image of high image quality with good color reproducibility. Also, the system can be made inexpensive and compact as a whole.

Disclosed is an apparatus and system for forming a color image which forms color image by modulating beams of light having different wavelength from plural light sources with use of image signal respectively, conducting a scanning exposure on a light-sensitive material by use of the modulated beams of light to form a latent image thereon and developing the latent image, wherein the light-sensitive material is a heat-developable light-sensitive material, the latent image is developed by heat developing treatment, the maximum intensity wavelength (λmax) of spectral distribution of the light intensity of one of the light sources is 560 nm ≦ λ max ≦ 620 nm, and the half width (W) of the spectral distribution is W ≦ 20 nm. Since the color image forming apparatus of this invention uses yellow light in place of blue light among plural lights for exposure without using blue light, stable and compact light source can be used as a light source to be combined with other light sources for image forming, the light source becomes to be long life, in addition, combining with a heat-developable light-sensitive material, the apparatus becomes small and low in cost and the formed image outputted from the computer becomes high in quality, etc.

Disclosed is a color image inputting system for inputting images on a light-sensitive material by scanning the images, which comprises a rewritable recording device for recording (14) a look up table (10B,10G,10R) for image data conversion and a device (11), built-in or provided outside of the apparatus, for rewriting the look up table (10B,10G,10R) stored in the rewritable recording device. Disclosed is also an apparatus used for the system. According to this invention, it is possible to provide a color image inputting apparatus which can easily take in, as image data appropriately converted in characteristics, various original images having different characteristics and can directly output the image data converted in characteristics to various outputting apparatuses.
