    摘要： A shift lever device (70) comprises:

    a lock body (72) provided with a steering lock mechanism for rotatably supporting a shift lever (76) that shifts a speed-change gear device;
    a transmitter (92) for transmitting predetermined information;
    a starter member provided in said lock body (72) wherein, by virtue of the fact that said transmitter (92) is deployed in the vehicle, a receiver provided correspondent with said transmitter received said predetermined information, and when operated in a state in which said shift lever (76) is positioned in the "P" shift position, the engine is started;
    a lock plate (80) fixed in the base end side of said shift lever (76) which rotates in accordance with the shifting of said shift lever (76); and
    a shift lock pin (96) provided in said lock body (72) correspondent with said lock plate (80) and which is connected to a brake which effects the braking of the vehicle and which, in a state in which said engine is started, unless said brake is operated, engages with said lock plate (80) to prevent the rotation of said lock plate (80).
