摘要： In a paper machine having a roll (12) rotating about an axis (A1) extending in a cross machine direction, and having a doctor blade (14) applied to the roll surface by a blade holder (16) parallel to the axis and carried on a doctor back (18), an apparatus is provided for accommodating relative movement between the blade holder (16) and the doctor back (18) in the cross machine direction during mounting and removal of the blade holder (16). The apparatus comprises a rail (42) fixed to the doctor back (18) and extending longitudinally in the cross machine direction. A groove (46) extends along the length of the guide rail. The groove (46) has a bottom (48), a width measured between confronting sides (50), and a top defined by ledges (52) projecting inwardly from the sides (50), with inner edges spaced one from the other to define a slot (54) that underlies the blade holder and has a width narrower than the width of the groove (46). A plurality of shafts (56) are spaced along the length of the blade holder and project downwardly through the slot (54) and into the groove (46). First (62) and second (64) independently rotatable elements are carried by each of the shafts. The first rotatable elements (62) are located in the slot (54) and are dimensioned to contact the inner edges of the ledges (52), and the second rotatable elements (64) are located in the groove (46) and are dimensioned to contact the undersides of the ledges (52).

摘要： An apparatus for doctoring a roll surface (5) including a pivot bar (12) adapted to be mounted on a doctor back (20) and which the pivot bar defines an upwardly projecting fulcrum (14). A first shelf (26) projects forwardly beyond the fulcrum (14) and a top plate (28) pivotally supported on and projecting forwardly beyond the fulcrum (14) overlies the first shelf (26). The top platen (28) is held downwardly against the fulcrum (14). Blade support members (36) are carried by and cooperate with the top plate (28) to define forwardly open slots (40), which slots (40) are configured and dimensioned to receive a rear edge of a forwardly projecting doctor blade (42). The blade support members (36) have rearwardly projecting second shelves (44) underlying the first shelf (26) and a loading mechanism (50) is interposed between the first and second shelves (26, 44) for pivoting the top plate (28) on the fulcrum (14) in a direction urging the doctor blade (42) against the roll surface (5).

The intermediate layers on opposite sides of the core include reinforcing fibers. The side edge of the doctor blade has an abrasiveness as measured by ASTM test method D5181-91 of between about 4.0 to 5.0.
