摘要： A method of producing waffles, mainly cheese waffles, in which portions of the waffle mixture are baked between baking plates, which form only the sides of the waffle, leaving the edges free.
The waffles are produced using apparatus having heat­ able pairs of baking plates (2) each with a functional surface forming the side of the waffle but the edges of the waffle are left free (i.e. undefined). A conveying device (1) advances the baking plates around an endless path, to which the lower baking plates (2b) are fixed, the upper baking plates (2a) co-operating with opening and closing cam means (3, 5) at particular positions along the path. Between the opening and closing cam means is a waffle removing unit (7) coacting with the lower baking plates and a waffle mixture feeding device (6) is arranged after the removing unit (in the direction of movement of the baking plates) for dispensing a mea­ sured portion of waffle mixture onto the lower baking plate.
