摘要:
A system for generating light with reduced physioneural compression. The system includes a first light source operable to emit light within a first wavelength range corresponding to a first photoreceptor and a second light source operable to emit light within a second wavelength range corresponding to a second photoreceptor. The system includes a controller functionally coupled to each of the first light source and the second light source. The controller is configured to alternately operate one of the first light source and the second light source with a duty cycle that is less than a response time of the visual cortex, but greater than a response time of physioneural cells, optionally including a latency between operation of light sources. The system may further include a third light source corresponding to a third photoreceptor.

An adaptive light system including a color matching engine, a controller, and a plurality of light sources each configured to emit a source light. The color matching engine determines a dominant wavelength of a selected color, and a combination of the light sources that the controller may operate to emit a combined wavelength that approximately matches the dominant wavelength of the selected color. A color capture device transmits a source color signal designating the selected color. Methods of tuning a luminaire having first, second, and third light sources, wherein each light source produces differing colors of light, including receiving a selected warmth and determining whether the light emitted by the first light source matches the amount of light needed from the first light source to match the selected warmth. Determining whether the first and second light sources emit sufficient light, and adjusting each to emit light having the selected warmth.

A lighting apparatus including a plurality of luminaires capable of generating polychromatic light having a dominant wavelength in the visible spectrum and arranged into an array and a computerized device (200) electrically coupled to the plurality of luminaires (300) so as to selectively operate each individual luminaire to produce source light varying with each other and with time. The computerized device (200) operates the luminaire (300) such that each luminaire (300) emits a source light, the source lights combining to form a combined light having selected characteristics. Each of the plurality of luminaires (300) may be operable to emit light having increased spectral opponency, thereby reducing melatonin suppression. The source lights, when perceived directly, recreate a lighting scenario having varying lighting characteristics.

A tunable light-emitting diode (LED) lamp 100 for producing an adjustable light output is provided. In one embodiment, the LED lamp 100 may include a drive circuit 440 for driving LED dies in one of a plurality of light output configurations (e.g., a pre-sleep configuration, a phase-shift configuration, and a general lighting configuration). Further, the LED lamp 100 may include an output-select controller 445 and/or input sensor electrically coupled to the drive circuit to select the light output configuration. As such, the LED lamp 100 is tunable to generate different levels of spectral output, appropriate for varying biological circumstance, while maintaining a commercially acceptable light quality and color rendering index.

The present system for driving an electronic light generating element, includes: (i) input terminals, (ii) an input rectifier, (iii) a switch control circuit coupled to the input circuit and operable to generate a switching signal having pulses, and (iv) a switching element coupled to the input circuit and the switch control circuit. The switching element is operable to generate an output signal formed as a series of bursts having peak amplitudes above a maximum forward current rating for a duty cycle less than a maximum operating duty cycle over which an electronic light generating element may be catastrophically damaged in response to the signal independent of negative current attributes and switching being applied to the switching element. The output signal is applied to the electronic light generating element to produce light.
