Specifically disclosed is a plasma display which comprises a plasma display panel wherein a plurality of discharge cells of one color or plural colors are arranged and a red phosphor layer (110R), a green phosphor layer (110G) and a blue phosphor layer (110B) corresponding to the respective discharge cells are also arranged so that a light is emitted by exiciting the red phosphor layer (110R), green phosphor layer (110G) or blue phosphor layer (110B) with ultraviolet light. In this plasma display, the green phosphor layer (110G) contains a green phosphor expressed as (Ma-x-yEuxTby)O·MgO·2SiO2 (wherein M is at least one of Ca, Sr and Ba).

The additional element functions as a substance suppressing the ionization of silver, resulting in suppressing the yellowing of the panel relatively easily, which leads to the achievement of a PDP capable of displaying an image with high luminance and high picture quality.
