摘要:
A staple leg cutting mechanism (5) is composed of a fixed cutter (6) provided between staple legs (S1) having penetrated sheets of paper to be bound and of a pair of movable cutters (7) arranged so as to be moved from the outside to the inside of the staple legs (S1). A clincher mechanism (10) is constructed from a pair of movable clinchers (11) each provided on the lower surface side of each of the pair of movable cutters (7). The staple legs (S1) having penetrated the paper are bent toward the inside by the movable clinchers (11) and led to between the fixed cutter (6) and the movable cutters (7), the movable cutters (7) are moved from the outside toward the inside of the staple legs (S1) to cut the tip sections of the staple legs (S1), and the staple legs (S1) are bent along the paper by the movable clinchers (11).

Chips of staple legs, or those portions of the staple legs that are cut off by a cutter unit, are discharged to the lower side of the cutter unit through an opening formed in the cutter unit. The chips are guided to both sides of a stapler (1) by a pair of chutes (22) arranged on the lower side of the cutter unit. The chips guided by the chutes (22) are led to a reception section (29), formed at a rear lower part of the stapler (1), through guide case sections (28) formed on both sides of the stapler (1).

An electric stapler, wherein a slide frame is installed on a driver unit vertically rotatable with respect to a base frame. A guide pin fitted to the slide frame is engaged with a recessed part in a cam plate part formed on the base frame. When the fixing release handle of the driver unit is operated, a lever pushes the slide frame to slide the slide frame so as to disengage the guide pin from the recessed part so that the driver unit can be rotated. When the driver unit is fixed in an upright state, the guide pin pushes a switch opening/closing lever to turn on a detection switch so that the electric stapler can be started. When the driver unit is rotated, the switch opening/closing lever pressed by the guide pin is released to turn off the detection switch so as to cut off a power supply.

A residual staple amount detection device of an electric stapler detachably having a staple cartridge (2) attached to and detached from the magazine part of a stapler body (1), storing sheet-like staples (a) formed by connecting a large number of straight staples in sheet shape stackingly in the cartridge body (2a) of the staple cartridge (2), and leading the staples to the outside of an opening part at the lower end part of the front wall of the cartridge body (2a) in order starting at the sheet-like staple (a) at the lower end part, wherein an engagement plate (3) engaged with the uppermost sheet-like staple (a) is disposed at the top part of the cartridge body (2a), a position detection means (9) for detecting the position of the engagement plate (3) is installed on the inside or outside of the cartridge body (2a), and based on the detection of the position by the position detection means (9), the residual amount of the sheet-like staple (a) is detected.

A staple refill which can be stored in a refill storing section in such a manner that the leading one of the sheet-like joined staples wound in roll form is on the upper side and which is adapted to lessen the load on a send-out means for sending out the leading one of the sheet-like joined staples in a stapler main body. The staple refill (1) is removably attached to a cartridge (51) installed in a stapler main body (50). A refill (2) comprises a storing section (40) for storing sheet-like joined staples (S) wound in roll form, a discharge port (46) for discharging the sheet-like joined staples (S), and a lead-out passage (45) for leading out the leading part (S1) of the sheet-like joined staples (S) into the discharge port (46). The lead-out passage (45) is upwardly bent from the discharge port (46) toward the interior of the storing section (40), so that the leading part (S1) positioned on the upper side of the sheet-like joined staples (S) is lead out to the discharge port (46). The lead-out passage (45) is provided with a retrograde motion preventive member (31) which prevents movement of the sheet-like joined staples (S) to the storing section (40).

A cutter unit (10) is provided, composed of a stationary cutter (11) installed between staple legs and a movable cutter (13) operated from the outside of the staple legs toward the inside. The cutter unit (10) is installed so as to be slidable between a position at which the unit is advanced in an operation region of a movable clincher (5) and a position at which the unit is receded from the operation region of the movable clincher (5). The cutter unit (10) is advanced into a staple hammer-out section to cut the staple legs penetrated through paper sheets to be bound, the cutter unit (10) is receded from the operation region of the movable clincher (5), and then the movable clincher (5) is caused to pivot to bend the staple legs.

A stapler (1) has a cutter unit (12) for cutting the tips of staple legs projected from the back surface side of a sheet. A cutting debris reception section (23) for receiving cutting debris of the staple legs is formed in a staple cartridge (20). The cutting debris of the staple legs cut by the cutter unit (12) is guided into the cutting debris reception section (23) of the staple cartridge (20) by a chute (22) formed at the cutter unit (12). The cutting debris of the staple legs is collected in the staple cartridge (20).
