摘要： Anthraquinone dyes are of the general formula:
where R' x C1-9 alkyl; alkoxyalkyl, (substituted)phenyl or -O-CH 2 - or -O-CH 2 - (substituted) phenyl, and R' = C1-18 alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, furfuryl, aralkyl or allyl. The synthesis uses reagents HS-R' and HO-R' on an anthraquinone dye. Suitable host liquid crystals are described, and an electro-optic cell in which the crystal compositions is used. The dyes shown have maximum absorptions of 580-602 nm and have good order parameter, allowing bright display.
