The apparatus comprising, a digital television signal receiver operative to receive the digital signal, the digital signal comprising a data section and at least one other section, the data section comprising the operation information; an operation information utilizer, operative to perform a trick mode operation; and an operation information placer, operative to place the operation information in a retrieval area. Wherein, the one other section is encrypted, and the data section is not encrypted, and the one other section comprises a copy of the operation information.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining visually noticeable differences between two input images. A first contrast image is generated from the first input image and a second contrast image is generated from the second input image. A contrast difference image is then formed from the two contrast images.
    Measures are calculated of the mean absolute difference between blocks of pixels of the first and second input image.
    Pixels in the contrast difference image are selected which exceed a first threshold and measures of the mean absolute difference are selected which exceed a second threshold. A detection signal is produced from the threshold signals.

The method comprising, receiving an encoded digital television signal, encoded in accordance with a layered encoding scheme, in a plurality of layers comprising a first layer comprising an elementary video stream and a second layer comprising a transport stream; duplicating operation information from the first layer of encoding within the digital television signal; and recording a copy of the duplicated operation information in a data section in the second layer of encoding within the digital television signal. The duplicated operation information is placed in the second layer when the duplicated operation information changes relative to an earlier version of the duplicated operation information.
