A method for producing 3,3’-diallyl-4,4’-dihydroxydiphenylsulfone, which comprises subjecting 4,4’-diallyloxydiphenylsulfone to a rearrangement reaction under the irradiation with a microwave, preferably in a molten state, more preferably further in a substantially oxygen-free atmosphere and in the presence of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of an antioxidant, an organic base compound and a chelate compound. The method allows the production of the objective compound having a high purity with good efficiency in a short time in good yield.
