Conventional cement admixtures used in order to enhance the flowability of a cement composition or prevent slump loss are problematic in that their performances are unsatisfactory or they cause heterogeneity of a cement composition. To solve these problems, the invention provides a cement admixture comprising a crosslinked polymer wherein a linkage having a structural unit comprising at least one divalent group represented by formula (I) is formed between the main chains each having a structure of a water-soluble polymer with a molecular weight of 500 to 100,000(1), wherein R 1 and R 2 represent each independently (a) or (b) provided that R 1 may be absent when R 2 represents (c); and R and R 1 represent each independently an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.
