    摘要: A method for setting arrangement of spray nozzles in which uniform cooling is possible in the direction intersecting the threading direction perpendicularly with regard to a cooling system of a hot steel plate applied in order to obtain a uniform steel material having good shape characteristics by control-cooling a hot steel plate obtained by hot rolling while performing clamp threading by means of a clamp roll is provided. A method for setting arrangement of spray nozzles of a spray cooler having a wide quantity of water regulation range by using two kinds or more of nozzle different in quantity of water and spray region is also provided.Spray nozzles are arranged such that a value obtained by integrating the n-th power of collision pressure of cooling water spayed from the spray against the cooling surface in the threading direction between the clamp roll pairs falls within -20% of the maximum value in the threading direction, where 0.05=n=0.2.

    摘要: A continuous casting billet with a reduced center segregation, especially a high-carbon-steel continuous casting billet and a production method therefor. A continuous casting billet, wherein a branching isometric system diameter at the billet center is set to up to 6 mm. To attain that size, an in-mold electromagnetic agitation is performed to set a primary dendrite tilt angle within 10 mm of a billet surface layer to at least 10 DEG , and a light rolling is conducted during continuous casting to set a center porosity at the billet center to up to 4 mm in diameter; whereby it is possible, when producing a continuous casting billet having a carbon concentration of at least 0.6 mass% and a billet size of up to 160 mm, to provide a billet having a reduced center segregation and being less frequently subjected to wire breakage at wire drawing after wire rolling.
