    摘要: A radio-frequency-noise-suppressive ignition system for an automotive vehicle's engine, comprising a plurality of spark plugs (1) each installed within a corresponding engine cylinder having an elongated monolithic resistor (7) equal to or more than eight millimeter long, noise suppressive resistance-contained high-tension cables (13), one of which being connected between a secondary winding of an ignition coil (27) and distributor (24), the others of which being connected between a plurality of fixed electrodes (17) of the distributor (24) and respectuve spark plugs (1), the distributor (24) having a rotor (22) electrically connected to a center electrode (16) via a contactor (19) made of a high-resistance material which is connected to the secondary winding of the ignition coil (27), the rotor (22) including a rotor electrode (21) having a discharge gap (20) against each of the fixed electrodes (17) and a dielectric material (25) preferably made of silicone glass secured to a portion of at least one of the top and bottom surface areas of the rotor electrode (21), and a resistance material (29) provided at an intermediate part of the rotor electrode (21) between one end of the rotor electrode (21) which is connected to the contactor (19) and the portion of the rotor electrode (21) to which the dielectric material (25) is secured.

    摘要: For an ignition system including an an ignition coil (40), a distributor (10) and spark plugs (70), several measures are taken to suppress radio frequency interference radiation therefrom. The distributor (10) has a rotor segment (24) with its output tip surface (24a) formed of of conductive and dielectric materials (26, 28) separately disposed from each other. Each of the spark plugs (70) includes a monolithic resistor (80) connected between its input terminal (82) and its center electrode (74). The spark plugs are connected to the distributor through respective first cables (60) each including a carbon impregnated conductive wire (92) covered with an insulating sheath (94). The ignition coil (40) is connected to the distributor (10) through a second cable (50) including a carbon impregnated conductive wire covered with an insulating sheath. The second cable carbon impregnated conductive wire has a resistance of 12 kΩ or more.

    摘要: A distributor for an internal combustion engine, especially of the type having a plurality of cylinders, each having a plurality of ignition plugs, has leads between discharge electrodes and cable connectors which are made of electrically-resistive material in order to attenuate electromagnetic noise generated during discharge. One type of " lead includes a flat, electrically-resistive conductor mounted on a flat insulator, and is especially effective in attenuating low- frequency noise. Another type employs a graphite fiber core as an electrically-resistive conductor, and is especially effective in attenuating high-frequency noise.
